Rubber Bead Check
Your window should have a rubber beading between the glass and window frame. It is possible that the rubber beading is hidden under the frame. If your window does not have any rubber beading then Perfect Fit blinds are not a suitable option.
Rubber Beading Width
Measure the width of the rubber beading from the frame to the edge of the glazing. If your rubber beading is wider than 6mm then Perfect Fit blinds are not suitable for your window.
Rubber Bead Depth Check
Take a credit card and gently insert the card between the glass and rubber beading. To make this check easier rub a small amount of washing up liquid on your card. The card must push in at least 1cm.
Frame Clearance Check
Ensure you have at least 2.5cm clearance from any obstruction, such as handles, hinges or vents by measuring from where the rubber beading meets the glass.
Measuring Your Window
Perfect Fit blinds require width, drop and window depth measurements.
Step 1
Measure the Frame Depth
Position a credit card flat against the window or door frame, overlapping the glass. Measure the gap between the credit card and the glass to determine the frame depth. Frame depths typically range from 18 mm to 30 mm.
Step 2
>Measure the Width
Measure the width of the visible glass at three different points and use the smallest measurement as your width. Don’t include frame or rubber beading in this measurement.
Step 3
Measure the Drop
Using a metal tape measure, measure the length of the visible glass in three places. Use the smallest measurement as your drop.
